Initial Post in Discussion Thread
The Discussion Thread is a section of the classroom where students can upload their assignments and comment on their classmates’ work. At the start of each Discussion Thread, I include an initial post that contains tips that may relate to the assignment or task. The additional information or tips may be posted directly into the “initial post” or it may be available to students as a downloadable PDF. This same initial post may also remind students to post their work directly into the discussion thread. Below are some examples.

PHOA209: Portfolio – Below is an example of an “initial post” where the additional information / tips is supplied to the student through a downloadable PDF. The reason for this is because with this course, several items are submitted for each task and for the final milestone submissions. Within the PDF, each item they need to submit is addressed separately and clearly. Click “here” to access the specific PDF to assist students with their M3T1.
