Course Description
Which genres of photography are you interested in? Which genres would you like to be recognized for? Having a variety of photographic genres in your portfolio can make you a more marketable photographer. In this course, we will explore three important genres in photography: commercial, editorial, and fine art. In this three-part lecture, you will explore major industry trends and subgenres within each area, examining the work of exceptional photographers who currently work or worked in these areas. In the weeks ahead, you will have the opportunity to create imagery in all of these genres, selecting one option from each genre, and completing a major project every five weeks. You will learn photographic techniques for shooting, editing, and composing in each genre, and gain tips to prepare for and carry out photo shoots in each genre.
